Dear Parent,
First I want
to take this opportunity to say thank you for entrusting us
with the heart and soul of your young person. The trust
placed in us from parents such as yourself around the world
is not something we take lightly. Each young person is
priceless and it is our desire that they discover and
fulfill their God-given destiny!
It seems as
though every time we turn on the news, pick up the paper or
hear the latest statistics they are full of the same thing...violence,
teen pregnancy, rebellion, bad attitudes, apathy,
selfishness, sex, drugs, peer pressure, depression…
At times it can make us wonder,
“Is
there any hope?!?”
Our answer...God’s
answer is a resounding, YES!
At
Decision Ministries we believe young people are the
solution, not the problem and endeavor in everything we do
to show them the voice they have in their
generation. We exist to bring a message of hope,
purpose and love that will help to change the face of
this generation. When you change a generation, you change a
nation.
Many young
people today are living a life void of purpose. They wonder
around aimlessly just waiting for something to happen. Or
they are chasing after MTV’s
definition of success only to find themselves deceived and
disappointed. Many of our young people are hurt,
disillusioned and without hope. It is time for us to take
them back!
At
Decision our goal is to bring each young person to a
place of “decision”.
Through youth camps, services, internships, mission trips,
workshops and conferences we present opportunities
for young people to experience the life changing power of
Jesus Christ. This is not something we do alone. In every
city, state and country around the world we partner with
local churches to reach their young people. We believe in
the local church and helping equip them to make a lasting
impact in the young people in their community. We can
bring them to a place of decision, but it will take the
weekly, if not daily influence of their local church to keep
them at that place.
I pray that
as you read this letter you have caught the heart of
Decision Ministries. We believe in young people.
We know each one was created with a specific purpose and
God has need of them. They can make a difference in this
world! They have the ability to succeed…to
live a life full of purpose that they enjoy. If you are
considering allowing your son/daughter to be a part of
Decision we would love the opportunity to invest into
the life of your young person!
